ISLAMABAD, May 24 (APP):Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan Friday said in days by gone, dynastic politics prevailed in the South Asian countries, but today all had changed.
Like India and Sri Lanka, the rule of dynasties had ended in Pakistan with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) coming to power, she said talking to a private news channel.
She said the people of Pakistan, particularly the youth, had rejected the two dynastic parties – Pakistan Peoples Party and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz in the last general election.
It were the youth, who had played a pivotal role in ending the rule of dynasties across the region and same was the case in Pakistan, where they had voted for the PTI, she added.
The special assistant said today social media had become a big tool where the youth were expressing their views freely and having great influence over the country’s politics. In the changed political dynamics, the political leadership should also change their conduct and do politics of serving the masses instead of working for their own vested interests.
To a question, she said the opposition leaders were apprehending adverse action for their corrupt practices and that was why they were hatching conspiracies against the National Accountability Bureau chairman.
