ISLAMABAD, Feb 27 (APP): Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister (DPM/FM), Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Friday reiterated Pakistan’s solidarity and support for the sovereignty, stability and territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Somalia and condemned the illegal Israeli recognition of Somaliland as a separate state.
The deputy prime minister met the State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Somalia, Ali Mohamed Omar on the sidelines of the Extraordinary Ministerial Meeting of the OIC Executive Committee held at the OIC Secretariat in Jeddah, a DPM’s Office news release said.
The two Ministers noted that Pakistan-Somalia ties were rooted in longstanding historical and religious affinities. They also exchanged views on steps to advance bilateral cooperation in various fields including trade, technology and people to people contacts.
