ISLAMABAD, Apr 14 (APP):Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister (DPM/FM), Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, has gained significant international recognition for his diplomatic leadership, following a week of intense engagement in efforts to ease tensions in the Middle East.
According to diplomatic assessments and international sentiment tracking from April 5–11, Dar has been widely acknowledged by global leaders and policymakers for his role in facilitating dialogue and supporting ceasefire initiatives in the region. Officials and influential voices from countries including South Africa, Iran, the United States, China, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Uzbekistan, and Egypt have cited his mediation efforts as constructive and impactful, a DPM’s Office news release said.
The observers note that Dar’s approach has emphasized de-escalation, multilateral coordination, and strategic neutrality, qualities that have contributed to Pakistan’s growing diplomatic visibility on the global stage.
Sentiment analysis over the past week places Dar as the most positively viewed world leader globally, with the highest positive-to-negative ratio among his peers. In the 24-hour period between April 10 and 11, his approval metrics showed 30.5% positive sentiment compared to just 8.5% negative, outperforming prominent leaders such as Xi Jinping, Mohammed bin Salman, Emmanuel Macron, and Friedrich Merz.
International media coverage has underscored Dar’s credibility as a mediator and his ability to navigate complex geopolitical dynamics during a period of heightened uncertainty. Analysts suggest that this recognition could enhance Pakistan’s diplomatic influence, particularly in conflict resolution and peace-building initiatives.
While the Middle East remains volatile, Dar’s recent diplomatic engagements have positioned him as a key interlocutor in ongoing discussions, with expectations that his role may expand further in the coming weeks.
