ISLAMABAD, Apr 16 (APP):Danish Ambassador to Pakistan Rolf Michael Hay Pereira Holmboe Monday urged students to make education a top priority
to become part of the global economy.
He expressed these views at a ceremony held in the auditorium of Nazriya e Pakistan Council by International Foundation for Education, Empowerment & Learning (iFeel) in collaboration with Helping Humanity, which is a welfare organization run by patriotic Pakistanis living in Denmark.
He said the well-to-do, emancipated and educated strata of the society have a moral and ethical obligation of “sharing and
caring” to bring the less privileged, marginalized segments at par. Change in a positive direction can be brought about by
imparting meaningful and quality education and education alone.
The Danish ambassador said Denmark is one of the richest and happiest nations owning to transformation and
promotion of the education sector. Both public and private sector have a uniform education system and different sectors play proactive role in promotion of education.
He said that to be the part of global economy, education must be the top priority. He said that impressive performances by
the student show their talent and iFeel is playing a constructive role to bring the out of school children in the mainstream of the
society.
Nations cannot progress and flourish with disparity in the socio economic status of different segments of the society and
when more than 50 percent of its population remains uneducated, he added.
The event was arranged to laud the efforts and hard work of the students and teachers in the 2018 examination of class V
and prizes were awarded to high achievers. Short skits and other items were presented by the students.
Earlier, welcome address was presented by Dr Tayyaba Siddiqui, chairperson of iFeel, while Saima Sayyed, the Human Resource manager presented a comprehensive report regarding activities under iFeel.
