ISLAMABAD, Jun 05 (APP):Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police teams from Tarnol, Margalla, Aabpara and Kohsar police stations have arrested five members of a notorious dacoit gang and recovered snatched mobile phones, cash, a stolen motorbike and illegal weapons with ammunition from their possession on Thursday.
An official told APP that the arrested individuals, identified as Zubair, Ibrahim, Umar Yaseen, Sharif Ullah, and Zain Iqbal were involved in multiple dacoities and other criminal incidents across various areas of the federal capital.
He said cases have been registered against the accused and further investigations are underway to trace their network and criminal record.
He said the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) has directed the officers to intensify the crackdown against such criminal elements and ensure the safety of life and property of the citizens.
He said that no dacoit or criminal element would be allowed to disrupt the peace of the city and strict legal action will be taken against those involved in unlawful activities.
