GILGIT, Mar 04 (APP):The spokesperson for the Gilgit-Baltistan Police has announced that the curfew in Gilgit city will be lifted after 12:00 midnight tonight, citing improved cooperation from the public.
According to GB police Spokesperson while the curfew is being withdrawn in Gilgit, security will remain on high alert at certain sensitive locations. Authorities have finalized an effective search strategy to be implemented at various points across the city. Citizens have been advised to carry their Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) at all times to avoid any inconvenience during security checks.
Meanwhile, in Skardu the curfew will continue until further notice. The local administration will determine the relaxation schedule in accordance with the prevailing law and order situation in the district.
The police spokesperson has urged the general public to remain vigilant and keep a close watch on their surroundings. In case of any suspicious activity, citizens are requested to immediately contact the relevant police control room or call the helpline at 1422.
Authorities reiterated their commitment to maintaining peace and ensuring public safety across the region.
