Cricket teams’ movement: ITP issues traffic diversion plan, advises extra 25 minutes

Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) on Saturday issued a traffic advisory, announcing diversions at different points on Islamabad Expressway, Srinagar Highway, Murree Road and Club Road due to the movement of cricket teams in the federal capital.

ISLAMABAD, Oct 10 (APP):Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) on Saturday issued a traffic advisory, announcing diversions at different points on Islamabad Expressway, Srinagar Highway, Murree Road and Club Road due to the movement of cricket teams in the federal capital.
An ITP official told APP that traffic diversions would be placed at different locations during the teams’ movement. Motorists were advised to use alternative routes and allow an extra 20 to 25 minutes for their journeys to avoid delays.
1\. Srinagar Highway: Traffic diversions will be placed at different points between Serena Chowk and Ninth Avenue. Motorists using Srinagar Highway can take Suhrawardy Road, G-8 Service Road and G-9 Service Road as alternative routes.
2\. Towards Faizabad: Motorists travelling towards Faizabad can use Faisal Avenue via Zero Point.
3\. Ninth Avenue: Motorists travelling from Ninth Avenue can use Service Road East.
4\. Koral to Islamabad: Motorists coming from Koral towards Islamabad can use Old Airport Road, Rawal Road, Rawalpindi Murree Road, I.J. Principal Road and Faqir Aipee Road.
5\. Islamabad Expressway, Murree Road and Club Road: In case of closures on these roads, motorists can use Lehtrar Road and Park Road as alternative routes.
6\. Travelling Out of Islamabad: Motorists leaving Islamabad can use Jinnah Avenue and Margalla Road.
7\. Bhara Kahu to Islamabad: Motorists coming from Bhara Kahu towards Islamabad can use Bani Gala and Park Road.
The official said traffic pressure was likely to increase on major roads during the diversions and advised citizens to leave 20 to 25 minutes earlier than usual.
He said ITP officers would remain deployed at different locations to guide motorists and facilitate traffic movement.
