ISLAMABAD, Oct 06 (APP): A special court on Monday granted last opportunity to PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi to prove themselves innocent under section 342 in toshakhana-II case.
The court shared the questionnaire with the accused and sought answers of it on next hearing October 8.
The cross-examination of the last prosecution witness in the Toshakhana-II case against PTI founder and Bushra Bibi has been completed during this day hearing.
Special Judge Central Shahrukh Arjumand heard the case at Central Jail Adiala Rawalpindi wherein accused PTI founder and Bushra Bibi were produced before the court.
The accused have been provided with questionnaires under section 342, on which a response has been sought at the next hearing.
Imran Khan’s lawyer Qousin Faisal Mufti completed the examination of the last prosecution witness Mohsin Haroon. The prosecution informed the court in writing about the completion of the testimony.
The court gave the questionnaire under 342 to the PTI founder and Bushra Bibi, the questionnaires given to both have 29 questions each. The accused were given a final chance to prove their innocence under Section 342 and the court also allowed the accused to present witnesses in their defense.
The defense lawyers will submit their answers to the questionnaire under Section 342 on October 8. The court has also given an opportunity to the lawyers of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi to consult with the accused.
Senator Ali Zafar, Senator Mashal Yousafzai, Barrister Salman Akram Raja, KP government advisor Barrister Saif and Imran Khan’s three sisters were also present in the court during the hearing.
Federal prosecutors Zulfiqar Abbas Naqvi and Bilal Butt while special prosecutors Barristers Umair Majeed and Shahroz Gilani were also present in the court. Further hearing of the case was adjourned till October 8.
