Court seeks arguments on acquittal plea in Sardar Tanveer Ilyas case

ISLAMABAD, Jan 29 (APP):The District and Sessions Court of Islamabad on Thursday heard a case related to an alleged fight involving former Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Tanveer Ilyas and others, and has sought arguments on their plea for acquittal.
The case was heard by Judicial Magistrate Mureed Abbas.
During the hearing, the court reviewed the acquittal application filed by the accused.
After initial proceedings, the court directed lawyers representing both sides to present their arguments at the next hearing. The magistrate stated that the matter would be considered after hearing detailed submissions from the prosecution and the defence.
Following these directions, the court adjourned the hearing of the case until February 6. No further proceedings were conducted on the day due to the pending arguments on the acquittal request.
According to case records, a police case has been registered at Margalla Police Station against Sardar Tanveer Ilyas and other individuals. The case relates to an alleged incident of a fight, which led to the registration of the first information report.
