ISLAMABAD, Jan 20 (APP):The District and Sessions Court of Islamabad on Tuesday issued non-bailable arrest warrants against former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur in an audio leak case, ordering police to arrest him and present him before the court.
The move follows his absence from the hearing, which also led the court to begin steps for declaring him an absconder.
The case was heard by Additional District and Sessions Judge Nasruminullah Baloch at the District and Sessions Courts Islamabad. During the proceedings, a co-accused named in the case appeared before the court. However, Ali Amin Gandapur did not attend, prompting the court to take further legal action.
Due to Gandapur’s absence, the court postponed the indictment process. The judge directed law enforcement to ensure his arrest and appearance at the next hearing. The court also ordered the initiation of proclamation proceedings against him, a legal step taken when an accused repeatedly fails to appear.
The court adjourned further hearing of the case until February 21. Officials were instructed to complete the required formalities before the next date and report progress on the execution of the arrest warrants.
The audio leak case against Ali Amin Gandapur has been registered at Golra Police Station in Islamabad.
