The District & Sessions Court of Islamabad on Monday issued a non-bailable arrest warrants for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi after he failed to appear in a case involving allegations of spreading misleading claims against state institutions and damaging their reputation.
Court issues non-bailable arrest warrants for CM KP in PECA case

ISLAMABAD, Jun 29 (APP): The District & Sessions Court of Islamabad on Monday issued a non-bailable arrest warrants for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi after he failed to appear in a case involving allegations of spreading misleading claims against state institutions and damaging their reputation.
The case was heard at the District and Sessions Court of Islamabad by Senior Civil Judge Abbas Shah.
During the proceedings, the court took notice of Afridi’s absence and issued non-bailable arrest warrants. The judge also directed law enforcement authorities to arrest the accused and present him before the court.
Sohail Afridi is facing legal proceedings in a case registered by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA). The case related to allegations that he made misleading statements about state institutions through electronic and online platforms.
The court reviewed the status of the investigation and discussed the accused’s non-appearance before issuing the arrest order. Following the decision, authorities were instructed to ensure compliance with the court’s directions and secure his appearance at the next hearing.
After completing the proceedings, the court adjourned the case until July 9 for further hearing.
The NCCIA continues to pursue the case under PECA provisions, while further legal proceedings will take place once the accused is produced before the court.
