ISLAMABAD, Jan 08 (APP):The District and Sessions Court of Islamabad on Thursday deferred proceedings on a private complaint filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) regarding alleged deaths and injuries during the party’s protest held on 26 November.
The court adjourned the matter without taking further action on the request.
District and Sessions Judge Nasir Javed Rana heard the case related to the protest incident. During the hearing, the court noted that the complainant side did not record its statement despite earlier opportunities.
PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan and senior lawyer Latif Khosa appeared before the court. However, the court record shows that Barrister Gohar Khan did not submit his statement on this date as well. Due to the absence of a recorded statement, the court decided not to proceed further at this stage.
The judge ordered that the next hearing of the case be held on April 7. The court directed that proceedings would continue once the required statement is placed on record.
