Country's progress linked to Pakistan Railway's performance: Sheikh Rasheed

QUETTA, Oct 22 (APP):Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed Monday linked the country’s progress and prosperity to Pakistan Railways’ (PR) good performance.
Addressing a press conference at Quetta Railway Station here, he said that the number of Freight
Trains had been increased from six to eight and soon the number would further be
increased to ten.
Rasheed added that a combined force consisting of Railway Police, Levies and Frontier Corps
would soon be established for protecting Sibi-Harnai Railway Section.
In reply to a question, the Minister said that the Sibi-Harnai section would again be made
functional within four months.
In reply to another question, he said that the fares of Akbar Bugti Express and Bolan Mail
had also been decreased.
He said that five hundred more constables in Railway Police would be appointed.
He said that the number of different vacancies in Pakistan Railways would be increased
to 10,000 after consultation with Prime Minister Imran Khan.
He accused the previous government for wasting national treasury through renovation of
unnecessary railway stations for high rates in the country.
The Minister maintained that fence would be erected around all railway tracks across
the country for the sake of protection of passengers and to avoid
accidents.
