Consultations continue on national standardized E-Filing framework
ISLAMABAD, Sep 02 (APP):Chief Justice of Pakistan, in his capacity as Chairman of the National Judicial (Policy Making) Committee (NJPMC), along with Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court, Justice Zafar Ahmed Rajput, on Wednesday held a consultative meeting with a delegation of the Sindh Bar Council at the Supreme Court Branch Registry Karachi.
The delegation was led by Vice Chairman Sindh Bar Council, Ishtiaq Ahmed Memon and comprised representatives from various districts of the province.
The meeting was part of the ongoing stakeholder consultations initiated by the Chief Justice of Pakistan for developing a uniform and standardized national e-filing framework for the Supreme Court, High Courts and District Courts.
The participants were briefed on the proposed National Standardized E-Filing System, envisaged as a user-friendly and rules-compliant platform aligned with the legal and procedural requirements of judicial proceedings.
The initiative is aimed at modernizing court processes through technology, enhancing efficiency and transparency, improving case predictability and making access to justice more convenient for litigants and lawyers.
The Chief Justice emphasized that the Bar, being a key stakeholder and principal user of the proposed system, would play an important role in developing standardized e-filing templates and ensuring their effective implementation at all levels of the judiciary.
The participants were encouraged to provide practical input to make the system accessible, responsive and easy to use.
The delegation welcomed the initiative and expressed the hope that the proposed system would simplify filing procedures, facilitate effective case tracking and help establish a unified electronic case record across the judicial hierarchy.
It was decided that a committee comprising Registrars of all High Courts and two members nominated by each Provincial Bar Council and the Islamabad Bar Council would review and finalize the standardized e-filing templates. Following finalization, the templates would be placed before the NJPMC for consideration and appropriate policy directions.
