Comprehensive steps taken to eradicate child labour: CM

LAHORE, Jun 11 (APP):Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government has taken comprehensive steps to eradicate child labour and every effort will be made to save children from the menace.

In his message on the World Day against Child Labour on June 12, he said child labour was both societal as well as an economic issue and added that involving the tender-age children in hazardous labour activities was a criminal act.

The CM regretted that children were constrained to help their families at an early age due to the economic difficulties. He emphasised that the elimination of child labour was a priority agenda of the incumbent government.

He mentioned that a multi-pronged strategy was needed to overcome the menace of child labour and added that every individual should play its role in this regard.
