ISLAMABAD, Jan 16 (APP):Mainly cold and dry weather is expected across most parts of the country on Friday, with very cold conditions prevailing in hilly areas, as per Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) forecast.
Moderate to dense fog in patches is likely during morning and night hours in most districts of Punjab, upper Sindh, and plain areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while light rain and snowfall are predicted in western Balochistan and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by evening or night.
Continental air is currently dominating most parts of the country, though a shallow westerly wave is expected to affect upper and western regions from tomorrow evening or night.
Over the past 24 hours, cold and dry weather prevailed across the country, with light rain reported in northern Balochistan, Kashmir, Murree, and Galiyat, and moderate to dense fog prevailing over much of Punjab.
Snowfall of one inch was recorded in Murree, while the lowest temperatures were observed in Leh at -11 C, followed by Skardu at -9 C and Ziarat at -7 C. Citizens are advised to prepare for continued cold conditions and possible travel disruptions due to fog and snowfall.
