Cold, dry weather to prevail across most parts of country on Saturday

ISLAMABAD, Nov 21 (APP):The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast mainly cold and dry weather across most parts of the country on Saturday, with very cold conditions expected in northern areas, particularly during the morning and night hours. Smog and shallow fog are likely to persist in parts of Punjab, especially during early morning and nighttime.
In Islamabad, cold and dry weather will dominate the day, with temperatures remaining low during the night.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, most districts will experience cold and dry conditions, turning very cold in hilly regions during morning and night.
Shallow patches of fog may develop in Peshawar, Swabi, Mardan, Dera Ismail Khan and surrounding areas during morning hours.
In Punjab, cold and dry weather is expected across most districts, including Murree and Galliyat.
Smog and shallow fog may affect Lahore, Sheikhupura, Gujranwala, Jhelum, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalpur and adjoining areas, particularly in the morning and night.
In Sindh, dry weather is forecast in most districts, while Balochistan will remain under cold and dry conditions throughout the province.
In Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, cold to very cold weather is expected, especially during morning and night.
Gilgit-Baltistan may experience partly cloudy conditions with chances of light rain or snowfall at isolated locations.
During the past 24 hours, most parts of the country remained under dry weather conditions.
However, hilly regions continued to experience cold to very cold temperatures, and smog along with patches of shallow fog persisted over several plain districts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, affecting visibility during early morning and night hours.
The lowest minimum temperatures recorded today highlighted the severity of cold in northern areas, with Skardu and Leh dropping to -05 C, Gilgit and Babusar reaching -02 C, and Gupis recording -01 C, reflecting the onset of intense winter conditions in high-altitude regions.
