ISLAMABAD, Oct 7 (APP): Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Friday visited Pakistan Rangers (Punjab) Headquarters.

The COAS was given detailed briefing by DG Rangers, Major
General Umar Farooq Burki about operational preparedness of the force, an Inter Services Public Relations news release here stated.

Talking to the officers and soldiers of Punjab Rangers,
Gen Raheel Sharif appreciated the high state of morale, operational preparedness and vigil, being maintained by troops along the Working Boundary and International Border.

The COAS also laid wreath at Shuhada Memorial to pay homage to Pakistan Rangers (Punjab) martyrs who rendered supreme sacrifices for the defence of motherland.

Earlier on arrival, the Army Chief was received by Lieutenant
General Sadiq Ali, Commander Lahore Corps.
