CM Shehbaz message on Int’l Day for Street Children

LAHORE, Jan 30 (APP):Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said that purpose of celebrating International Day for Street Children was to sensitize the people and raise a strong voice for the rights of children living the life of a derelict.
In his message issued here Tuesday, the Chief Minister said
that securing the future of street children was the priority
agenda of Punjab government and all resources were being utilized
for providing conducive atmosphere to help them grow as educated
and confident human beings.
Child Protection and Welfare Bureau, he mentioned, was working
in an effective manner to give better future to street children
and different facilities had been arranged in this department so
that such children could be fully rehabilitated.
Like all other children, the street children were also a responsibility of the nation, and government was actively working for their rehabilitation through various educational facilities, he added.
Shehbaz Sharif said, there was no doubt that provision of best education to children was key to bright future of nation, asserting,”I am sanguine that Pakistan Muslim League-N government has ensured a bright and prosperous future for all the children through educational reforms.”
Similarly, he said, different steps had been taken to secure future of abandoned and stray children. “Today demands from us that
all the line departments should play a proactive role for giving a purposeful life prospects to such children because they are our precious asset and a hope for the bright future,” he said and added
that this mission required strong partnership between public and
private sectors.
He said that all the segments of life should reiterate this commitment that they would continue to play a beneficial role for
securing the future of children who were derelict.
