CM Punjab made new chief of Buzdar tribe

DERA GHAZI KHAN, Apr 28 (APP)::Thousands of citizens attended “Dastar Bandi” (turban tying) ceremony of Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Khan Buzdar as he was chosen as the ninth chief of the Buzdar tribe.
About one month ago, Sardar Fateh Muhammad, the chief of the Buzdar tribe had passed away. Sardar Fateh Muhammad remained chief of the tribe since 1983.

CM Sardar Usman Buzdar is the elder son of late Sardar Fateh Muhammad. According to local tradition, the elder son succeeds the father as Sardar or Tumandar of the tribe. A special dish namely “chhattri” was prepared for the guests.

Noteables wore hundreds of turbanes to the Chief Minister Usman Buzdar. The sources also informed that the cloth turbans would be distributed among the poor after the ceremony.

The ceremony of “Dastar Bandi” was held at the chief minister’s native village of Barthi.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of all Baloch tribes hailing from Sindh and Balochistan and tribal areas of south Punjab.
