LAHORE, Oct 23 (APP): Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz
Sharif has ordered strict action against the responsible for delaying and showing negligence in the procurement of some medicines of anti dengue and directed to constitute a committee to take action against them.
Shehbaz Sharif said where there was matter of human lives, delay of even a second was criminal negligence which was intolerable.
He was addressing a meeting through video link on Sunday.
During the meeting which lasted more than three hours, chairman
Chief Minister’s Inspection Team presented an inquiry report regarding non procurement of some medicines of anti dengue in time during the current financial year.
The chief minister said the Punjab government was implementing
a comprehensive policy for eradicating dengue from the province.
He lamented that despite availability, protocol evolved for purchase of anti dengue medicines was not implemented. Had there been an effective monitoring system by the department, there would not have been delay in the process of procurement of these medicines, he added.
He said those displaying negligence and laxity should be determined and action be taken against them as per rules and regulation without any discrimination.
He said a comprehensive strategy be evolved within seven days for checking such incidents in future.
Heath Advisor Kh Salman Rafiq, the chief secretary, additional chief secretary, secretary law and other officials participated in the meeting from the Civil Secretariat.
