MULTAN, Apr 27 (APP)::Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar laid a foundation stone of Nishtar Hospital-II at Pull Balail here on Saturday.
Addressing the ground breaking ceremony, he said that as per the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan, special focus was being paid on basic health facilities as various mega projects were being initiated in health sector. He said the Nishtar Hospital-II would have capacity of 1000 beds.
`The CM Buzdar maintained that there would be capacity of 120 bed in emergency ward of the hospital. The 500 beds would be established in the first phase, 500 beds in the second phase while medical college, nursing college and others would be made
in the third phase, he added.
He said the project would help decrease burden from the Nishtar Hospital where 650,000 patients were being treated every month. He said the Nishtar Hospital was over burdened as the patients from KPK, Balochistan and other areas were visiting for healthcare in the hospital. He said the Nishtar Hospital had been established in 1951 and the Nishtar Hospital-II was being initiated after 70 years.
The chief minister stated the hospital would be made state of the art and he would himself monitor the project.
A new block in Chaudhry Pervez Elahi Institute of Cardiology would be constructed at a cost of Rs 12 billion and the beds capacity would be increased to 480 beds, he added.
He further said that sub-secretariat would be established in the South Punjab for equal distribution of funds after the budget. He was going to announce various health projects in DG Khan during his visit today, he added.
