CM chairs meeting on tourism act
PESHAWAR, Apr 1 (APP):Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Mehmood Khan here on Monday chaired a meeting on Tourism Act to promote tourism activities and make the sector as an industry in the province.
He directed the departments involved in tourism promotion to give status of Tourism Zone to the province’s tourism spots.
He asked them to provide best possible facilities to the Tourism Zone for facilitation of tourists across the province.
The construction of standard hotels, parks and other facilities should be made available in the Tourism Zones, he maintained.
He said that 20 sites had been identified for development of tourism potential of the province. He directed the concerned authorities to develop Gabin Jabba, Jirgo Abshar in Swat, Darel valley, Mankiyal valley, Bayun valley.
While in Chitral, he said Bar Maghasht and Golan valley in Swabi, a place of Bargali would be developed as tourism spot.
He said that KP would be made as tourism hub of the country and would help boost the national economy.
The meeting was attended by senior minister Atif Khan, finance minister Taimur Saleem Jhagra, law minister Sultan Mehmood Khan besides high officials of relevant departments.
