ISLAMABAD, Jan 10 (APP):Adviser to Prime Minister on Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam inaugurated the “CleanGreen Unit” to develop close coordination and data sharing with relevant stakeholders and general public over the targets achieved and newly set for the Prime Minister’s Clean and Green project under the umbrella of the Ministry of Climate Change (MoCC).Malik Amin Aslam underlined the core objectives of the CleenGreen Unit at the inauguration of the unit which aims at implementing the prime minister’s CleanGreen vision in letter and spirit. He said that the unit also intended at formulating the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) so that all environmental protection departments, private partners, volunteers and students could generally pursue them to play their role in the project. In time information sharing to all stakeholders was also the objective of the unit, he added. The CleanGreen Unit, besides keeping record and disseminating information to the public would also enhance the coordination among the provinces and other partners with complete details of the set targets achieved and the new ones, said a press release issued here on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, he said the CleanGreen Unit would be administered by well qualified and experienced staff of the ministry. Malik Amin Aslam remarked that this unit would separately look after the five pillars of CleanGreen Project which would expedite the momentum of the project. Under the “Austerity Measure” drive of the prime minister, the ministry’s staff would administer the Unit and unnecessary appointment would be discouraged, it added.
