"Clean Green Pakistan Initiative" at Islamabad International Airport

ISLAMABAD, May 03 (APP):In pursuance of the, “Clean Green Pakistan Initiative”, Aviation Division has embarked on the campaign to plant trees at the Islamabad International Airport.
The new Airport, so far the biggest in the country, has emerged as an icon for not only Islamabad, but for Pakistan as well, said a press release.

Islamabad has the pride of being the greenest capital in the world, and in order to bring the new icon in sync with the beauty of the capital city, the present campaign has been launched.

Speaking on the occasion, Secretary Aviation Division Mr Shahrukh Nusrat highlighted the significance of the campaign and termed it as a positive contribution to the national Clean Green Pakistan Initiative with all of its components vis-a -vis Tree Plantation, Solid Waste Management, Liquid Waste Management, Clean Drinking Water and Sanitation.

He mentioned similar campaign undertaken earlier at Jinnah International Airport Karachi in February 2019. He added that similar initiatives are being replicated at all airports under the Aviation Division.

Affirming the resolve of the Aviation Division , Secretary Aviation invited all residents of Islamabad to come forward and become part of the “Own a Tree at Islamabad International Airport for Times to Come” initiative for the campaign at the Islamabad International Airport.

There is no cost to be paid by the individuals. Each tree would carry the name of the individual and would symbolize his /her contribution towards the national cause.
Interested individuals may visit the airport and become part of the campaign.
