Clash issue in Punjab university to be resolved amicably: Ahsan

ISLAMABAD, Jan 26 (APP):Minister for Interior Ahsan Iqbal on Friday said that issue of clash between two groups in Punjab University will be solved amicably.
Responding to a point of order raised by the Senators in the Senate, he said “ The chief minister of Punjab had assured that the issue will be resolved amicably today”.
He said that students from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan are studying there on scholarship basis after invitation of the Chief minister to them as a good will gesture.
The minister dispelled the impression that the issue of clash had happened due to provincialism.
“No provincialism is being fanned as they are our children and children of the whole nation. They were invited in the Punjab University by the chief Minister on scholarship so that they can get good and quality education and play their role for the progress, prosperity as well as development of their respective provinces.”
The Chairman of the Senate Mian Raza Rabbani also assured the Senators to discuss the issue with the Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif.
Leader of the House Raja Zafarul Haq said that he took the issue with Inspector General of the Punjab and asked him to shift the injured to the hospital for treatment.
Leader of the Opposition Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan said that provincialism should not be fanned to clash issue in Punjab
university. He asked the provincial government for taking the action against the elements involved in it.
He said “Punjab belongs to people of KPK, Sindh and Balochistan and they are our children, we will not leave them alone”.
Senators Usman Kakar, Mir Kabeer Ahmed, Azam Khan Swati,
Ilyas Balour and Aurangzeb Khan asked the Chairman Senate Mian Raza Rabbani for constituting a committee to seek proper solution of Student’s clash in the University.
