ISLAMABAD, Dec 8 (APP): The Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) Thursday passed a resolution against the bill passed by the Sindh Assembly against forced conversion of religion.

Addressing a press conference after chairing a Council meeting, CII Chairman Maulana Muhammad Khan Sherani said the bill passed by the Sindh Assembly was against the Constitution and Islamic teachings.

The Council would write a letter and send a copy of the resolution to the Sindh Governor, he added.

Sherani said the CII also passed a resolution against the Senate Standing Committee on Human Rights for discussing the blasphemy law again. That act of the Senate body was not appreciative as the law had already been discussed, he added.

He said the Council would also write a letter to the Senate Chairman to avoid creating controversy on the already passed laws.

He said the Council passed another resolution for presenting its recommendations in the Parliament. Proper time should be given in the parliament to discuss the CII’s recommendations, he added.

Sherani said the Council will write a letter to the federal government for the implementation of its recommendations according to the Constitution and law.

At the end he offered Fateha for the departed souls of Havelian aircraft crash.
