Chinese vice president witnesses Gandhara, Buddhist relics at Taxila Museum

ISLAMABAD, May 27 (APP):Chinese Vice President Wang Qishan on Monday visited the Taxila Museum and witnessed the archaeological relics of Gandhara and Buddhist civilizations.

The Chinese Vice President took keen interest in the artifacts dating 2nd century
BC to 6th century AD at the museum, situated some 40 kilometres from Islamabad.

Minister-in-waiting Khusro Bakhtiar and Chinese ambassador Yao Jing accompanied
the visiting dignitary, who arrived in Islamabad on a three-day official visit on
Sunday.

Chinese Vice President Wang Qishan later arrived in Lahore, the provincial capital of Punjab, where he was received by Chief Minister Usman Buzdar at the airport.

VP Wang Qishan in his remarks on arrival said he was pleased to visit “the country’s heart”.
