Chinese media delegation calls on Tariq Fatemi

ISLAMABAD, Nov. 25 (APP) : A delegation of senior journalists from China called on Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Syed Tariq Fatemi here on Wednesday.
The delegation, led by Mr. Han Bin from CCTV News, is currently on a visit to Pakistan to deepen people-to-people contacts and enhance media interaction between the two sides.
Welcoming the delegation, the Special Assistant emphasized the
importance of media in shaping public opinion and perspectives, and underscored the need for strengthening collaboration between the media representatives of both countries.
He briefed the delegation regarding the progress made by Pakistan
towards further strengthening its democratic institutions, improving governance and achieving economic stability during the past two and a half years.
He also highlighted the marked improvement in the internal security
situation of the country as a result of a comprehensive counter-terrorism strategy, involving law enforcement measures through the National Action Plan, as well as targeted military operations through Operation Zarb-e-Azb.
The SAPM outlined the vision of the Prime Minister for greater regional
integration and connectivity, in order to unleash its economic and trade potential.
He stressed that China-Pakistan-Economic Corridor was a landmark
initiative in this regard, and would not only benefit the people of Pakistan and China but also that of the entire region.
He emphasized that the historic ties between Pakistan and China were
being enhanced and strengthened as a result of growing cooperation between them, constituting a powerful element in the maintenance of peace and stability in the region.
The members of the Chinese media delegation thanked the Government and
people of Pakistan for their hospitality, and reiterated their resolve to continue working closely with their Pakistani counterparts to further strengthen the bonds of friendship between the two sides, as well as to enhance people-to-people contacts.
