ISLAMABAD, Jan 26 (APP):Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa on Monday directed authorities to install additional CCTV cameras at the entry and exit points of the federal capital and further intensify patrolling to strengthen security arrangements in the city.
The directive was issued during a high-level meeting held at the CDA headquarters to review law and order and security measures in Islamabad.
The meeting was attended by Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, CDA Member Administration Talat Mahmood, and senior officers from the CDA, district administration and Islamabad Police.
During the meeting, officials were briefed on the expansion of the Islamabad Safe City project, including its timelines, design and the installation of modern surveillance equipment.
The implementation of the M-Tag system in the federal capital also came under discussion.
IG Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi said a zero-tolerance policy was being adopted against criminal elements to further improve the law and order situation.
He said police patrolling, snap checking and CCTV-based monitoring had been enhanced, adding that the use of modern technology had helped reduce emergency response time.
The chief commissioner stressed the need for improved coordination among all relevant agencies and directed them to make maximum use of modern technology to further strengthen security in the city.
Randhawa said that, in line with the vision of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, all available resources would be utilised to make Islamabad a crime-free city, adding that ensuring a peaceful and secure environment for citizens remained a top priority.
