Chan urges opposition to bring agenda for reforms in EC

ISLAMABAD, Nov 3 (APP):Spokesperson to the Prime Minister, Nadeem Afzal Chan on Sunday urged the opposition parties and Jamiat-Ulama-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) to bring agenda for reforms in election commission.

Talking to a private news channel, he said the opposition should bring suggestions and proposals regarding reforms in the election commission at proper forum which was the parliament.

Commenting on opposition’s role, he said it was also the responsibility of opposition parties to support the government for smooth functioning of the parliamentary system.

To a question regarding protest march of Maulana Fazlur Rehman at Peshawar Mor, he said talks were the only way to discuss issues.

To another question about reservations over working of election commission and election results, he said the political party leaders who lost the elections had always claimed of rigging.
