ISLAMABAD, Jul 12 (APP): Chairman Senate on Sunday paid tribute to the martyrs of July 13, 1931, stating that their sacrifices remain a timeless symbol of the Kashmiri people’s struggle for justice, dignity, and the right to self-determination.
In his message on Kashmir Martyrs’ Day, the Chairman Senate said that the 22 Kashmiris who embraced martyrdom outside Srinagar Central Jail demonstrated extraordinary courage and unwavering commitment to their rights. He noted that their sacrifices continue to inspire generations and serve as a powerful reminder of the resilience of the Kashmiri people.
Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering moral, political, and diplomatic support for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
He emphasised that a peaceful and lasting resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, in accordance with the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people, is essential for durable peace and stability in South Asia.
The Chairman Senate urged the international community to take meaningful steps for the protection of human rights in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and to support efforts aimed at ensuring justice, peace, and respect for the fundamental rights of the Kashmiri people.
He expressed solidarity with the people of Jammu and Kashmir and reiterated that Pakistan stands firmly with them in their legitimate struggle for their internationally recognized rights.
