Chairman Senate attends 68th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference in Barbados

ISLAMABAD, Oct 08 (APP):Chairman Senate of Pakistan, Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, has arrived in Bridgetown, Barbados, to participate in the 68th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference (CPC) being held under the theme “The Commonwealth: A Global Partner.”
At the opening ceremony, Chairman Gilani was warmly received by representatives of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) and senior officials of the Government of Barbados.
Gilani expressed appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by the Government and people of Barbados and commended the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association for serving as an important platform for inter-parliamentary dialogue, cooperation, and shared learning among member states.
While attending the opening ceremony of the 68th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference, he reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong commitment to the Commonwealth’s core principles of democracy, rule of law, equality, and mutual partnership.
Chairman Gilani is leading the Pakistan parliamentary delegation at the 68th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference, which brings together Speakers, Presiding Officers, and Members of Parliament from across the Commonwealth to deliberate on key global and regional issues
