Central procession of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) taken out in city

LAHORE, Dec 24 (APP): Central procession of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) was taken out from Railway station with religious fervour and zeal, under the auspices of Central Committee for Celebrations of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH).

President of the committee Aftab Rabbani, Justice (retd) Dr Munir Mughal and former governor Punjab Chaudhry Sarwar inaugurated the procession.

Thousands people from different walks of life participated in the procession while 50 local processions joined the main procession.

Camels, horses and hundred of vehicles were the part of the procession.

‘Sabeels’ of milk and tea were set up at about 100 places of the procession route, while lungar (free meals) was also distributed at different points.

An inaugural ceremony was held at Railway station before the starting procession in which Qaumi Razacar, civil defence, boy scouts, 1122 ambulances, police and schoolchildren marched.

Ulema threw light on the life of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).

The central procession concluded at the Data Gunj Bukhash Darbar after passing through its traditional routes including Branderth road, Gawalmandi, Bansanwala Bazar, Shahalami Chowk, Anarakali, Lohari Gate and Bhatti Gate.

City police made foolproof security arrangements on this occasion.
