Central Alm, Zuljinah procession peacefully ends in Cantonment

PESHAWAR, Oct 23 (APP): The Central ‘Alm and Zuljinah’ procession that
was taken out from Imambargah Hussainia Hall in cantonment to pay rich tributes to Shaheed-e-Karbala for their matchless sacrifice for supremacy
of Islam, was peacefully culminated here Friday afternoon amid tight security.
The main Zuljinnah procession on 9th Muharram, started from Imam Bargah
Hussainia Hall this morning and went through the prescribed route. The mourners performed Zuhar and Asar prayer at Kalabari Fawara Chowk and offered special dua for progress and prosperity of Muslims Ummah, Pakistan and martyrs of Karbala.
The procession went peacefully and after going through various routes
ended at the same Imam Bargah Hussainia Hall. Heavy contingent of police, Quick Response Force (QRF) and other law enforcing agencies were high alert to deal with any untoward incident.
Security has been tightened around as all the entries have been kept
under vigilant check besides walk through gates and closed circuit cameras have also been installed en-route Zuljinah procession and Majalis venues.
Advisor to the Chief Minister for Information and Higher Education
Mushtaq Ghani, Law advisor Arif Yusaf, CCPO Peshawar Mubarak Zaib Khan and SSP Mian Saeed visited cantonment area and monitored the security arrangements for the Zuljinah procession along with other personnel from law enforcing agencies.
In addition to aerial surveillance, the ‘Azadars’ went pass through
scanners and metal detectors to ensure their safety.
Like elsewhere, Ashar-e-Muharram Majalis and Zuljinnah
processions of 9th Mohrram were also taken out in all major cities
of Khyber Pakthunkhwa to commemorate the supreme sacrifices rendered by Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A) along with his companions in the scorching heat in the desert at Karbala for supremacy of Islam. Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and honourable members of his family laid down their lives to defend and uphold the glory of the great Divine religion of Islam.
Thousands of mourners along with children and women participated in the
processions and majalis. Exceptional security blanket in Peshawar for Muharram was taken as Provincial capital was virtually sealed while Army and FC remain remained in standby for aid of civil administration.
Foolproof security measures have been taken in most sensitive districts
of DIKhan, Hangu, Kohat, Mansehra, Kuram Agency’s city of Parachinar and Aurakzai Agency.
Information Advisor to CM, Mustaq Ghani said around 7000 policemen have
been deployed in Peshawar for Ashora Muharram. He said FC and Army has been put on standby for any toward situation and emergency in Govt hospitals enforced while staff holidays were cancelled.
Hussainia Hall in cantonment from where the main Alm and Zuljinah
procession was taken out today was also sealed from all side.
Similarly the Alm and Zuljinah procession on 10th of Muharram would be
brought out from Qissa Khawani bazaar on Saturday as police have made foolproof security arrangements for 10th of Moharam in Khyber Pakthunkhwa.
