ISLAMABAD, Oct 02 (APP): The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has retrieved more than 1,000 kanals of land in Sector E-12 after more than four decades, paving the way for accelerated development of the long-delayed residential sector.
According to spokesman on Friday, the recovered land is worth billions of rupees and its retrieval has removed a major hurdle to development in the sector.
The CDA said development work had been accelerated following the recovery of the land, with infrastructure projects, including roads and civic facilities, being undertaken for future residents.
The recovery was achieved through coordinated efforts by various CDA formations and the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad, in collaboration with the Islamabad district administration, Islamabad Police and relevant assistant commissioners.
The Authority attributed the achievement to the efforts of Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi and the supervision of the CDA chairman and Islamabad chief commissioner Sohail Ashraf.
Citizens and stakeholders welcomed the recovery of the land and the commencement of development activities, expressing hope that the sector would be developed into a modern residential area.
The CDA said that it would continue efforts to protect public land, resolve longstanding issues and ensure development in accordance with Islamabad’s approved master plan.
