CDA, MCI, Jazz World to hold Rawal Dam cleanliness drive on July 22

ISLAMABAD, Jul 21 (APP):The Capital Development Authority (CDA), Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI), in collaboration with Jazz World, has invited students, volunteers, environmental organizations, corporate teams, NGOs, families and citizens to participate in the “Rawal Dam Cleanliness Drive 2026” on Wednesday, July 22 at 10:30 AM at Rawal Dam, Islamabad.
The voluntary public cleanliness drive is being organized in the light of the directions of the Chairman CDA/Chief Commissioner Islamabad, said a press release.
The initiative aims to promote environmental stewardship, encourage responsible citizenship and inspire collective action for a cleaner and healthier Pakistan.
It said Rawal Dam is one of Islamabad’s most treasured natural assets and a vital source of water, biodiversity, recreation and environmental sustainability.
According to the press release, the event will bring together volunteers, students, environmental organizations, corporate partners and citizens to remove litter, promote waste segregation and raise awareness about protecting natural resources.
Every participant will contribute towards preserving Rawal Dam for future generations.
The stated objectives of the drive include protecting the natural beauty of Rawal Dam, promoting environmental awareness and civic responsibility, encouraging community participation in cleanliness initiatives, highlighting the importance of responsible waste disposal, and fostering collaboration between the public and private sectors for environmental conservation.
Participation is open to students, families, volunteers, environmental organizations, corporate teams, NGOs and citizens of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

The press release also noted that the Rawal Dam area is not under the administrative jurisdiction of CDA, MCI or the ICT Municipal Administration, and the cleanliness drive is a voluntary public service initiative undertaken solely in the larger public interest to promote environmental protection, public health and civic responsibility.
