The talks focused on investment opportunities in EV charging stations and implementation of recently adopted regulations aimed at facilitating electric mobility in Islamabad.
Randhawa said the capital offered significant potential for investment in EV infrastructure, adding that the CDA had put in place regulations for charging stations and was ensuring their enforcement.
Dr Hafiz said the regulations require commercial buildings to allocate three per cent space for EV charging facilities.
He added that charging stations would be mandatory at nearly all 138 filling stations in Islamabad. Under the rules, at least one charging point will be required at existing filling stations and two at new ones.
The chairman said plans were also under way to establish dedicated charging hubs at various locations across the city.
The Chinese delegation expressed readiness to cooperate in setting up EV charging stations and briefed participants on 3D-printed housing technology.
Randhawa directed officials to prepare a feasibility study on introducing 3D-printed housing in Islamabad, stating that the CDA aimed to promote modern, cost-effective and environmentally sustainable housing solutions. He also emphasised the need for technology transfer.
The meeting also reviewed proposals to introduce electric bikes and scooters in the capital, as well as progress on environment-friendly projects, including electric trams.
Officials reaffirmed their commitment to promoting investment, innovative technological solutions and sustainable urban development initiatives in Islamabad.
