CDA chief reviews uplift work in Diplomatic Enclave

ISLAMABAD, Sep 16 (APP):Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Sohail Ashraf on Wednesday visited the Diplomatic Enclave to review progress on ongoing development, infrastructure and beautification works.

The CDA chairman was briefed by senior officials, including Member Building, DG Works, DG Infrastructure, ADC(G) and the project director, about the pace and quality of work and the timeline for completion.

Sohail Ashraf directed the relevant formations to expedite the projects while ensuring that approved designs and quality standards were followed.

He said the Diplomatic Enclave was an important and sensitive part of Islamabad’s diplomatic landscape and its infrastructure and surroundings should reflect the image of a modern, secure and well-managed federal capital.

The ongoing works include improvement of roads and footpaths, renovation of security gates and check posts, upgrading of waiting areas, boundary wall repairs, installation and improvement of security and LED lighting systems, fencing and grills, landscaping, tree trimming, and improvement of green belts and medians.

The CDA chairman directed officials to pay particular attention to cleanliness, landscaping, illumination and maintenance of public spaces.

He also called for measures to minimise inconvenience to diplomatic missions, residents, visitors and other stakeholders during the execution of the works.

He stressed the need for coordination among the authority’s departments responsible for development, security, sanitation, landscaping and maintenance, and directed regular field monitoring and timely progress reports.

The CDA said the works formed part of its broader efforts to upgrade Islamabad’s infrastructure and public spaces and improve the capital’s overall appearance and environment.
