CDA chairman inaugurates women’s Ramazan Sahulat Bazar in G-11

ISLAMABAD, Mar 03 (APP):Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa on Tuesday inaugurated a special Ramazan Sahulat Bazar for women in Sector G-11, established in collaboration with the Islamabad Women’s Chamber of Commerce.

The ceremony was attended by the chief officer of the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI), representatives of the Women’s Chamber of Commerce and a large number of consumers.
According to officials, around 48 stalls have been allocated to women vendors at the G-11 Ramazan Sahulat Bazar. The stalls will remain operational until Chand Raat.

During his visit, Randhawa inspected various sections of the bazar and reviewed the items available at different stalls. He also interacted with women vendors and customers, inquiring about any issues faced by them.
Officials briefed the chairman that the special bazar has been organised for women ahead of Eidul Fitr, featuring stalls offering bangles, mehndi, ready-made garments and other festive items. Daily-use commodities and food items are also being sold at officially notified rates.

The chairman was informed that security, sanitation and monitoring arrangements had been put in place at the bazar.
Officials said that price control magistrates were conducting inspections and taking action on complaints related to overcharging or quality issues.

The briefing added that strict implementation of official price lists was being ensured across all Ramazan Sahulat Bazars in the capital, with continuous monitoring to prevent overpricing.
The CDA and district administration were said to be working to provide relief to citizens during the holy month, while action was being taken against profiteers and hoarders.
Officials also informed the meeting that, in line with the vision of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, a cashless payment system had been introduced at the Ramazan Sahulat Bazar.
Randhawa directed officers to ensure the quality of food items and strict adherence to official price lists. He emphasised that officials should remain present at the bazar and address public complaints promptly.
He warned that strict action would be taken against those found overcharging or involved in profiteering, stating that the objective of the initiative was to facilitate residents of the federal capital during Ramazan.
