CDA carries out maintenance of 194 accommodations during 2017-18

ISLAMABAD, Apr 25 (APP):Minister for Interior Ijaz Ahmad Shah Thursday told the Senate that Capital Development Authority (CDA) had carried out the maintenance of 194 government accommodations in Islamabad during the financial year 2017-18.
Replying to a question in the Senate during a question hour, the minister said that CDA was devising a composite work plan for maintenance work of government accommodations for Financial Year 2018-19.
He said usual maintenance work as per approved SOP of 359 government accommodations of various categories would be undertaken and accordingly, tenders for the said maintenance works had been invited and presently under process.
To another question, the minister said the prime responsibility of Immigration Wing of FIA was to regulate the exit and entry into Pakistan of passengers through 26 notified Immigration Checkposts.
Due to strict control over these notified Checkposts, it is not possible for any illegal immigrant to enter through these notified Checkposts, he added.
He said Pakistan had a porous border of 2400 kilometers from Torkham to Chaman and another 800 kilometers from Taftan to the seaside on the border of Iran, apart from the coastal area on the southern side.
He said the responsibility of controlling the border lied with the Frontier Corps, Balochistan Levies, and Coast Guards etc.
