CAPES, University of Sindh ink MoU to advance Asia-Pacific research

ISLAMABAD, Feb 17 (APP):The Consortium of Asia-Pacific and Eurasian Studies (CAPES), Islamabad, and the Area Study Centre of Far East and Southeast Asia (FESEA) at the University of Sindh have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to advance high-impact research and policy engagement on Asia Pacific.
This collaboration will empower intellectual activity and national research potentials in Pakistan on East and Southeast Asia through FESEA statutory requirement of advanced interdisciplinary research and policy reach and strategic studies expertise of CAPES, said a press release issued here on Tuesday.
Under the MoU, both institutions will collaborate on co-authored research papers, policy briefs and analytical reports focusing on key regional themes including security dynamics, the evolving Indo-Pacific construct, and the Belt and Road Initiative.
One of the pillars of the agreement is the journal that is recognized by the HEC, the journal is the Asia Pacific, the CAPES President, Dr. Khuram Iqbal, is offered to join the Editorial Advisory Board, whereas the Director of FESEA will be offered to join the CAPES Board of Directors.
Beyond academic exchange, the two institutions will coordinate on policy submissions to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other relevant ministries, providing research-based recommendations on trade, regional security and climate governance.
