Campaign to enroll children under Ehsaas ESP in full swing: Dr. Sania

Khanewal, Jan 8 (APP): Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Poverty Alleviation and Social Protection, Dr. Sania Nishtar on Saturday said the campaign to enroll children of Ehsaas Kafalat families under the Education Stipend Program (ESP) was in full swing in the country.

During her visit to the Government Girls Primary School, Kot Ala Singh, Khanewal, Dr. Sania interacted with the women and their children availing the Ehsaas Education Stipends. She reviewed the digital enrollment of eligible children on spot under the Education Stipend Program.

She said the process involved in providing education stipends to the children has been digitalized from beginning to end.

The stipends are provided for the children of families registered with Ehsaas from Nursery to Class XII while the amount of stipends for girls is more than that of boys.

Meanwhile, Dr. Sania inaugurated Ehsaas Nashonuma Center at the District Headquarters Hospital, Khanewal. Deputy Commissioner Khanewal, senior officials of the hospital and Ehsaas program were also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Sania said public hospitals in the four Tehsils of Khanewal, Jahanian, Kabirwala, Khanewal and Mian Channu have Ehsaas Nashonuma Centers.

She said the Ehsaas Nashonuma Program was aimed to provide cash transfers and healthy food to the mothers and newborns to prevent stunted growth.

She said the scope of Ehsaas Nashonuma Centers would be expanded to districts of the country. The Ehsaas Nashonuma Program was being executed in Rajanpur and Khanewal in South Punjab. In the first phase, 50 Nashonuma Centers are functioning in 15 districts of the country.

She said Ehsaas Nashonuma Program was a step towards the Prime Minister’s promise of preventing stunted growth in children.

She said the benefits of girls were more than boys under the Ehsaas Nashonuma Program.
During her visit to Khanewal, Dr. Sania also met grocery owners in the local bazaar and briefed them about the Ehsaas Rashan Program Registration.

Head North and Head Central National Bank of Pakistan, Hisham Jan Kayani and Farhan Durrani were also present on the occasion.


Dr. Sania briefed that the grocers would be given eight percent tax free commission along with discounted amount.

The registration of grocery owners was going on through Ehsaas Rashan Portal:  ehsaasrashan.pass.gov.pk.
Dr. Sania appreciated the role of district administration in Ehsaas Rashan Registration campaign.
