Businessmen, general public responded well to IMF agreement, Assets Declaration Scheme: Firdous

ISLAMABAD, May 15 (APP):Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Wednesday said that business community and general public had given good response to the agreement with International Monetary Fund and Assets Declaration Scheme.
In a statement, she said that the objective behind Assets Declaration Scheme was documentation of economy and utilization of dormant assets.
She said that one objective of Assets Declaration Scheme was to provide opportunities to all segments of the society including business community who could register their assets after payment of tax amount.
She said that the agreement with IMF was testimony to the fact that the government believed in financial discipline and was determined to introduce reforms. She made it clear that the rights of poor segments of the society would be protected in the IMF agreement.
Dr Firdous said that Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme, Clean and Green Pakistan and Ehsas Programme meant for elimination of poverty were major steps towards realization of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision. She said that the former rulers ruined the national economy but strangely they had the audacity to give advice for its revival.
