Coaches collide head on: 25 killed over 50 injured
One dead, 14 injured in road mishap

RAHIM YAR KHAN,Oct 17 (APP): A severe head on collision between two  speeding coaches resulted in the death of 25 persons,besides leaving over  50 injured some 35 kms from here near Khanpur city,early Monday.

According to Assistant Commisssioner Khanpur,Ahmed Raza the injured were  shifted to THQ hospital Khanpur and those with severe injuries were  rushed to Sheikh Zayed hospital RYK.

Talking to APP here telephonically,he feared that more people could lose  their lives as many of the injured were critical.

Those killed include five women who were being identified alongwith rest  of the deceased. A coach packed to capacity,bound for Sadiqabad from Faisalabad,collided with another heading towards Bahawalpur from Karachi.The accident occurred at Shahi road near Dhareeja Pathak,about
ten kms from Khanpur city.

DCO Rahim Yar Khan,Mohammad Zafar Iqbal and DPO Zeeshan Asghar reached the  spot and supervised relief operation.

Meanwhile,Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has expressed  profound sorrow over the road accident and directed concerned authorities to ensure best possible medical treatment of the injured.

He prayed for the departed souls and early recovery of all the injured  persons.
