British PM's representative calls on Interior Minister

ISLAMABAD, Dec 9 (APP): British Prime Minister’s Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan Owen Jenkins called on Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan at Punjab House on Wednesday.
They discussed bilateral relations between two countries and regional situation during the meeting.Interior Minister said Pakistan acknowledged the efforts of British government for maintaining peace and tranquility in the region.

He said mutual confidence and coordination among all countries of the region were need of time to overcome challenges and threats to peace. Recent incidents in the world had proved Pakistan’s stance that terrorism was an international challenge not an issue of a
specific region, he added.

Nisar said Pakistan gave importance to relations with Britain and wanted to enhance coordination with it to improve the capabilities of state’s law enforcement agencies, intelligence sharing, prevention of anti-narcotics and international crimes.

The British envoy appreciated Pakistan’s efforts to maintain peace in the region. He said British government would extend all kind of support to Pakistan for peace and achieving mutual interests.
