ISLAMABAD, Mar 19 (APP):Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Senator Rubina Khalid, held a meeting with World Bank Country Director Mr. Najy Benhassine at the BISP Headquarters to explore avenues of collaboration on skill development and the re-certification of BISP Registration Centres.
During the discussion, Senator Rubina Khalid underscored the importance of the Skill Development Programme in empowering BISP beneficiary families by alleviating poverty and promoting financial independence.
The meeting also reviewed BISP’s progress concerning Disbursement-Linked Indicators, with a particular focus on enhancing the technical capacity of BISP field officials through specialized training programs.
Both parties agreed to form dedicated teams to develop proposals aimed at improving the technical expertise of BISP field staff.
Additionally, Senator Rubina Khalid sought the World Bank’s support in strengthening BISP’s IT and cybersecurity framework.
In response, Mr. Najy Benhassine assured the World Bank’s full cooperation in assisting BISP in digital transformation and cybersecurity enhancement.
The meeting concluded with a commitment to strengthening collaboration between BISP and the World Bank to ensure effective service delivery and capacity building for the welfare of underprivileged communities.
