ISLAMABAD, Aug 27 (APP): The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has launched its Integrated Grievance Management System (iGMS) to provide beneficiaries with a unified and transparent mechanism for complaint registration and resolution.
Developed with the technical assistance of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the system is aimed at strengthening accountability and enhancing service delivery for Pakistan’s most deserving families.
The iGMS was inaugurated at the BISP One Window Facilitation Center, Islamabad, by ADB President Masato Kanda, who launched the system during his visit, accompanied by a high-level delegation.
Chairperson BISP Senator Rubina Khalid and Secretary BISP Amer Ali Ahmad welcomed the delegation.The visiting delegation included ADB Country Director Ms. Emma Fan, Chief Advisor to the President Keiichiro Inui, Senior Advisor John Juhyun Jeong, Director General Leah C. Gutierrez, Executive Director Noor Ahmed, Sr. Project Officer Mansoor Ali Masood, Additional Secretary Sabina Qureshi, and Senior Joint Secretary EAD Miran Mohiyuddin Soomro.
Speaking on the occasion, Senator Rubina Khalid said that BISP was not just a financial support programme but also a platform for the socio-economic empowerment of women.
“Making CNIC mandatory for registration gave women an identity, while declaring them heads of households reflects the revolutionary vision of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto,” she said.
Senator Rubina Khalid also highlighted initiatives being integrated under the One Window model, including Mobile Registration Vans (MRVs), Benazir Taleemi Wazaif, Benazir Nashonuma Awareness Counters, and the Hybrid Social Protection Scheme.
Secretary BISP, Amer Ali Ahmad briefed the delegation on core programmes, new initiatives, and upcoming reforms.
He underlined how the One Window Service is improving convenience, transparency, and efficiency for beneficiaries.
The ADB President and delegation reviewed service counters, interacted with beneficiaries, and met children enrolled in Benazir Taleemi Wazaif, inquiring about the programme’s impact on their families.
The delegation praised the transparency and accessibility of services at the facilitation center.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of a souvenir by Senator Rubina Khalid to ADB President Masato Kanda, acknowledging ADB’s continued support to Pakistan’s social protection initiatives.
