ISLAMABAD, Jan 29 (APP):Chairperson Benazir Income Support Program, Marvi Memon on Monday said BISP had successfully launched training for women empowerment, child protection and education.
“About 5.6 million women got benefit from BISP with stipend and training, while 1.9 million children had been enrolled through educational program,” she said talking to a private news channel.
BISP had arranged training for women and child protection, besides launching campaign for controlling malnutrition in urban and rural areas, she said.
“We can utilize the BISP beneficiary committees for imparting training, which are 60,000 in 32 districts of the country,” she said.
The first training was organized on last Saturday regarding child protection, she said adding that the training was given in local languages.
The parliamentarians had also participated in the first training organized by BISP for child protection, she said.
The BISP was helping a large number of women and their children living in different parts of the country, Marvi Memon said.
