BISP chairperson holds live E-Katcheri to listen public complaints

ISLAMABAD, Mar 10 (APP):Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Senator Rubina Khalid held a one-hour live E-Katcheri at the BISP Headquarters on Tuesday, directly listening to public complaints and announcing an increase in stipends under key BISP programmes.

During the session, 36 callers from different parts of the country spoke directly with the chairperson and shared their concerns. Director Generals and other senior officers of BISP also attended the session. Senator Rubina Khalid listened carefully to the complaints and directed the concerned officials to resolve them promptly, warning that negligence in addressing public issues would not be tolerated.

Extending Ramazan greetings to beneficiaries, the chairperson announced that the quarterly stipend under the Benazir Kafalat Programme has been increased by Rs1,000, raising it from Rs13,500 to Rs14,500. She said the disbursement of the new installment has started from today.

She further announced that stipends under the Benazir Taleemi Wazaif and Benazir Nashonuma programmes have also been increased by Rs500 each to further support children’s education and improve maternal and child nutrition.

Senator Rubina Khalid urged beneficiaries to carefully count their payments and receive the full amount without accepting any deductions.

She said any complaint regarding unauthorized deductions should be reported to BISP immediately so that strict action can be taken against those responsible.

Encouraging women to raise their voices against injustice, she said the programme is named after Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and represents her vision of empowering women across Pakistan.

Regarding digital wallets, the chairperson advised beneficiaries who have not yet received their free SIM to visit the nearest BISP office to collect it and keep it safe, as all future payments will be made through these SIM-linked digital wallets. She added that BISP staff will assist beneficiaries in activating them.

She also clarified that the BISP registration survey is completely free of charge and that all services, including registration, are provided free of cost.

Senator Rubina Khalid reiterated that 8171 is the only official BISP number and warned beneficiaries to treat any message received from other numbers as fake. In case of complaints, beneficiaries may contact the BISP helpline at 0800-26477.
